We have said it here before, "when in doubt, check them out". As this article by The Independent shows us, even investigators need to be checked out.
It seems that the same Kevin Halligan who subsequently received $500,000 to investigate the missing child; Madeline McCann, had previously pulled the wool over the eyes of the International oil company; Trafigura, who paid Mr. Halligan over $1.5million to secure the release of two of it's executives.
Apparently Mr. Halligan went missing from his residence in Great Falls, Virginia, which the media describe as a "mansion". It is alleged that he fraudulently purchased the mansion with the money that Trafigura had paid him to secure the release of it's executives being held in West Africa.
People like Halligan have a habit of resurfacing after they think that enough time has elapsed and that his victims will have forgotten. His Detective agency is called Oakley International, so be careful if he tries to do work for you.
You just might be about to unwittingly finance his next mansion.
